This spectacular luxury tented camp is situated in a stunning location where the jungle meets a rugged, empty beach, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Wild Coast Lodge’s unique design, masterminded by Nomadic Resorts, a consortium of Dutch, English and Sri Lankan designers, sees the man-made structures blending seamlessly into the surrounding landscape thanks to the use of carefully selected natural materials.

The use of arched fabric structures allows each of the 28 tents to take on the shape and colour of the rocks and boulders that lay scattered nearby, whilst a clever layout in the shape of a leopard’s paw print alludes to the area’s most famous resident. While our main buildings, made of bamboo, blend in with the distinctive rock formations of Yala, our uniquely shaped tents, called Cocoons & Urchins, truly represent a luxury five star resort room under canvas, offering state-of-the art amenities including air-conditioning. The open-air bamboo-clad Ten Tuskers bar and Dining Pavilion – designed to mirror the boulders scattered across the golden beach beyond – wrap around the resort’s enormous free-form swimming pool. Guests can enjoy creative daily-changing menus of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in the restaurant, as well as sundowner cocktails and picnics al fresco on the sand dunes, watching dusk settle over the Indian Ocean.

The two bedroom suites on the second floor of the villa each have a balcony. The main floor bedroom has an enclosed private terrace. The beachfront villa is a perfect place for unprecedented comfort. It is is great for either a family or a group of 3 couples, comfortably sleeping 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 12.

OCEAN SIGNATURE SUITE
The Ocean Signature Suite sits elegantly over the Indian Ocean – with extended views of the horizon, beach and gardens of Southern Sri Lanka. At 70 sqm this spacious suite is located on the second floor of the villa and includes your own large balcony and en suite bathroom. If an entire villa is too large, then an individual Ocean Signature Suite will give you an amazing beach front experience. It’s your choice to enjoy privacy in your suite, or in the shared living and dining areas of the villa’s terrace or on the beach front deck.

SUPERIOR DELUXE SUITE
The Superior Deluxe room is located on the second floor of the villa and is 60 sqm. It enjoys a sea view framed within a landscaped pathway. Ocean and Garden sight-lines can be enjoyed from a cozy 6sqm balcony or from the living or bedroom space. One side of the Superior Deluxe is a large glass wall that looks over the Sharavi elevated garden. This room is spacious and full of natural light. It’s your choice to dine in your room or in the shared living and dining area of the villa’s terrace or on the beach front deck.

PALM DOUBLE ROOM
The Palm Double Room is 50sqm and comes with an enclosed private terrace and large bathroom. Located on the ground floor of the villa it can be made up as two Twin beds or one King sized bed and has a maximum occupancy of 2 persons. The Sandals - Hikkaduwa

The Sandals is a five bedroomed villa set on a hillock overlooking a picturesque stretch of beach in Balapitiya on the West Coast. The Sandals is a light and airy beach villa with a Mediterranean feel edged by the turquoise seas. This two-storey, tropical modern beach villa is designed with white washed walls and large glass windows that provides for uninterrupted sea views. Interiors are decorated with plush white sofas and contemporary local art. The Sandals can accommodate up to 10 guests and can booked on a whole villa basis or room by room. There is a wide, 1km long virtually private beach.

There are five bedrooms with two located on the ground floor and three on the upper floor. Bedrooms are well furnished with king sized four-poster beds (1 room has 2 twin beds) & air-conditioning. All open out to sea views. All have ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers.

Located just south of Bentota, the journey from Colombo’s international airport takes about one hour and Thirty Minutes via the Southern Highway. The historic city of Galle is about 45 minutes away and the Tourism District of Hikkaduwa is about 20 minutes.

ISHQ is informal, homely and bespoke. Family owned, the villa takes its name from the Persian word for love. Located along Galle’s ‘French Riviera’, ISHQ is a four-bedroomed luxury villa that first came to be in the 1990s, a part of the original fabric of the island’s first luxury villas designed by the renowned architect Bruce Fell-Smith. Today, the villa marries a love for clean design with oceanic hues and brings together all the comforts of a boutique hotel with the privacy and exclusivity of a private villa.

Chena Huts - Yala

 

In Sri Lanka’s deep south, the rustic farming villages round Tissamaharama are divided from the teeming animal and bird life of Yala – Sri Lanka’s oldest and second-largest natural reserve – by a belt of semi-protected jungle running down to the sea. For centuries, people here have farmed small clearings in the jungle called chena, sleeping beside their crops in modest huts to protect them from hungry elephants.

Here today, nestled among dunes and trees at the ocean’s edge, you will find Chena Huts, a Yala Hotel, which is the latest addition to Uga Escapes’ world-renowned portfolio of luxury boutique hotels.
